This article shares our honest review of our new Glacier Bay Faucet and a fast and easy DIY for your kitchen.
Want to know an easy way to update your kitchen for under $100? Switch out the faucet!
In all honesty, this is something I should have done a long time ago. But we weren’t sure if we were going to move, or if we were staying in this house for a few more years.
We saw some homes on the market this past week but decided to stay put for at a few more years. We want to save as much money as we can, work on our finances and then perhaps build or buy a fixer-upper.
7 Important Questions to ask before you buy a New House
In the meantime, I am going to make our home look and feel the way I want it to. I’ll be sharing what exactly those projects are in the next blog post, so keep an eye out for that!
First, let’s chat about our new Glacier Bay Faucet and I’ll give you an honest review of it so far.
Easy DIY Kitchen Update
I’ve been a fan of Glacier Bay products, and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this faucet on sale. Home Depot and Wayfair both a wide selection of faucets to choose from, and you’d be surprised with by all sales.
We’ve been working on a few updates to our home, and each one has been within a small budget. Since this is our first real home, we made some changes to pay off our debts while living here. This is why I’ve been putting such a major focus on small home updates on the blog and sharing tips to re-use things you already own. It’s become a really fun hobby for me and I love sharing it with you all.
I love the way a new faucet can make a kitchen look, even if you don’t like the counters or sink.
Anyway here is a quick review of why I love our new Glacier Bay faucet. Plus a few extra problem-solving tips we came across.
Glacier Bay Faucet Review
We bought the Market Single-Handed Pull Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet
It’s stainless steel, and easy to clean (I’ve been using windex but I’m not sure if there’s something better out there?)
It was really easy to install!
The faucet also has a lifetime warranty from Glacier Bay!
It has a fit for a 1 or 3 hole sink, which made updating it a breeze!
There are two supply lines that come with it (31.5 in).
Different spray settings make it easy to use for anything you need.
It’s a fast mount installation with a plastic piece that screws on very easily. Instead of the two bolts that came with the standard faucet.
The deck plate is included but can also be removed depending on sink type.
We did have to move the lines under the sink because they kept getting caught on the pipes. An easy fix was to use cable ties, and it worked perfectly after.
Another thing I wanted to include was a tip about the weight that comes with the faucet. I had some readers say they had issues with the sprayer not retracting. Thankfully it’s an easy fix by checking on the weight attached to the sprayer line.
Sometimes it doesn’t sit right on the line and prevents the sprayer from retracting properly. Adjust it accordingly and you should have no problem with the sprayer. Usually, people have a lot of things stored under their sinks that could move the weight or line, so making sure it cleared under there is your best bet.
