Our Woodland Themed Christmas Tree

Last year we had a woodland themed Christmas tree, and I really wanted to create it again. Over the years I’ve bought most of our ornaments from small shops in the area. It’s become one of my favorite things to do with Penelope, letting her choose special ornaments from our travels because you never know what magic you might find.

A few of my favorite ways to decorate our woodland themed Christmas tree is with felt animal ornaments, ribbon, birch tree cut-outs, and other natural decorations.

The best way to add woodsy touches is adding a white fur rug, a burlap tree skirt or even a basket. Plus I always recommend warm lights, because they look so good especially with real trees.

We’re a real tree kind of family, especially since we moved to cottage country. This year we got a Douglas fir and I couldn’t be happier with it. The way a beautiful real tree smells that I can’t get over. BUT if you were like us before we moved here with our fake tree, a great way to get the real tree scent is with some pine essential oil.

I will link all the decorations and ornaments below, perfect for your own Woodland Themed Christmas Tree. You can also find more of our Christmas Gift Guides and Holiday content here!
